Interesting, again. I would have expected, from the name, that sugar
beets would be sweeter than "normal" ones. Birch sugar could be a fun
experiment, but I don't have easy access to any birch trees, I'm afraid. And
drying the honey out is more trouble than it's really worth for us--it's easy
enough to use in it's natural state.

So----does anyone know how mangels taste? ;-) I've got some seeds for a
variety of them that I didn't get around to planting this year. Anyone have
documentation for this type of beet? Be a fun A&S entry....... Oh, and
golden beets are common, most seed companies carry them. They have the
advantage of not bleeding red dye into things that you don't *want* red.
Like clothes................. ;-) Haven't grown any yet, but they are
supposed to taste the same as the red ones.
