A point to remember is that e-mail is actually a form of verbal
communication in a written medium.  Tone of voice and body language do
not carry over into our messages, so the words can come out cold and
ruthless.

helpful.  Even the terse, negative responses are not particularly
objectionable.  Therefore, I believe that the problem is in the haste of
our speech, we fail to write our normal concern and courtesy into our
words.  We must try to improve our manners and the manner of our speech.
