You are correct. Currently the fisherman in the Northwest and in Maine are
haveing a hissy fit because Chili is importing it to the USA and selling it
for less than they do thus "depressing" the market. In reality, they want to
control the market and keep the prices at artificially high prices at the
expense of the consumer. Also the importation of Chilean salmon has created
5,000 new USA jobs> more than the domestic salmom industry currently imploys.
It a case of whine and sniffle for the most part.
