hanging from the ceiling, bat-ears flapping, absorbing Knowledge from the
wisdom of the whole cathedral hierarchy...).

Well, Aye, except that I prefer the Venerable Gunthar as a title.  Sounds
more - well, venerable.

I'm all in favour of the badge.  The three sca-cooks subscribers in this
far-flung Shire can wear it conspicuously at events and give each other
mystic handshakes or something, to the confusion of all beholders.  But I'd
like to see it keep the salamander, which is a perfectly genuine cooking
implement and has the added advantage of being a pune or play on words...
Maybe not the cheese.  I've already forgotten the point behind the cheese.
