Sorry! A pitcher in a baseball game sometimes dusts his hands with some
powdered rosin, similar to the stuff that is used on violin bows, except
that the rosin for musical instrument bows comes in the form of a cake.
Powdered rosin is kept in a small cloth sack, maybe six inches long by
four wide, filled with the powdered rosin and tied shut at the mouth,
made from some kind of coarse, porous cloth, like some form of muslin.

The weave has to be open enough so that the sack will hold the powder
until it is bounced up and down or somehow impacted against, causing
some opf the powder to come through the weave in the sides of the bag,
evenly dusting the hand, or whatever it is struck against.

When I was a kid, we used to fill old socks with crushed chalk or flour,
suitable for turning our friends into ghosts for Halloween...similar
tactic, I guess.

Don't forget to use rice flour instead of rosin ; ) !
