I want to second this recommendation. I haven't spent any time comparing
the redactions to the originals so I can't comment on that. But the lists
of what foods were period and were not for Europe, ideas for camp foods
and the other non-recipe sections are great for new SCA cooks. I definitely
recommend this book.
The wire binding for the book is quite useful when you want to open the
book and have it stay open while cooking but I don't know how durable it
will prove to be. For the same reason, use in a cooking environment, the
plastic coated cover is a good idea. Although sometimes I wish the pages
were laminated, too. :-)
