How new are you tothe SCA?  I'm generally a lurker, but, I have <snip>The West

with dabbling with medievel foods.  The 12th night
cook-off is very intriquing, and not that complicated. <snip>

I have been in the SCA for nearly 8 years (time flies!). All of it in the same
area.  And have always gotten the Page.  I live in Caer Darth (mka Santa
Cruz).  Having been a student and now and struggling to make ends meet adult,
budgeting for events does not always get me to the farther end of our huge
Principality. Cooking is something I have "always" done and I am just now
trying to apply this to the SCA.  All arts are in an upswing locally as the
last two Coronets have had entering A&S, cooking or brewing as mandatory for
entering the lists (*another* project but huzzah I support it!).  The past
couple 12th night cook offs have stumped me completely- I am waiting for this
years.
It is good to know that there are indeed peers of any sort in cooking.  I have
been trying to keep better track of competitions- and not just becasue of the
added challenge of keeping myself and my lord eligible for the lists.  I still
maintain however that feasts out here are *rare* compared to what I am hearing
from the other reaches of the Known World.
