In a message dated 97-09-28 19:06:55 EDT, you write:

<< You shouldn't assume that you are being banned (so far as I know, this
does
not happen). You should assume that no one knows the answer to your
question,
or feels that they have anything relevant to contribute towards it. It may
also be that even someone who did have the answer didn't read 200 of the
posts
that simply came on a mailing list because they had to rapidly clean out
their
mailbox, so they deleted everything that wasn't personally sent to them.
 The
problem of mailbox overflow is only getting worse as more and more people
 find the Internet. >>

Ditto. I seldom read every post to the list. Unless it is from someone who
e-mails me privately or I am still interested in the thread, I usually
delete a large number of my messages each day.

The best way to get a responce is to type in an appropriate header> for
instance, the head > Need help-Rum would probably initiated a few responces.
OTOH, many of us here are familiar with period cookery but do not have
readily available redacted recipes for all requests. For instance, I have
been working on finding recipes from the mid- period using bay leaves for
seasoning. This serach has taken me 3 days and several long distance phone
calls so far and I am not ready to post further info on it yet.:-0 Many
requests for specific things take hours of research for even the most
knowledgeble among us. I am willing to help in anyway I can, personally, but
if it is not an area I have researched there is little that I can post that
would be helpful.

Believe me when I say that we are all here to help each other and the service
provided by Mistress Alys, Master Adamantius and several others is
time-consuming. Trust me that those in the know willingingly share what they
know but they are not all-knowledgeble nor do they usually post when they do
not know.

Lord Ras ( who is currently engaged in preparing a class for the Mundanes on
the techniques of Medieval Cookery and the use of spices during the Middle
Ages for this Saturday as well as practicing 15 recorder pieces for said demo
and redacting recipes for Clash of the Peans in 3 weeks. Whew!!!!!!)
