It's the zip-lock part that makes them non-period (there should be a 
post-period patent date for the zip-lock). The plastic bag is, of course, 
perfectly period, but since they all used the biodegradable bags we 
unfortunately don't have any samples preserved.[1]
On a serious note, why not use a fabric (or leather) bag?
