I was under the impression that washing eggs removes a thin outer layer
that helps it stay fresher longer. I think (and I could be wrong) that
you are only supposed to wash them if you are going to dip them in wax,
(the purposeof the wax being to make them able to last several weeks
unrefrigerated) or put them in boiling water for a few seconds (similar
purpose to the wax) Someone please correct me if I'm wrong- I am
planning to try these both for Pennsic this year....
