SC - Silk Route

The practical problem is that once you get east of Persia there are
essentially no period recipes available--at least so far as I know. There
are some Mughal almost-recipes, but they are south of the silk route. So
silk route feasts tend to end up doing modern ethnic instead of period.

The obvious solution is for SCA cooks to persuade SCA autocrats to design
their theme feasts around the available corpus of recipes, instead of first
choosing the theme and then finding out whether the recipes exist.

The other possible problem, of course (depending on your philosophy of what
the SCA is about, which varies a lot from person to person), is that it
seems very unlikely that anyone in period did silk route feasts.
