Boy, Howdie!  is that ever an UNDERSTATEMENT!
 
Just as a note, and ounce of dried, prepared, Saffron is several
thousands of threads!
A "dozen or so" is indeed "less than an ounce"!!  

On the order of:
"a Teaspoon full of water, measuring less than less than a couple of
gallons" !!
