SC - Nasturtiums in Salad

How do the recipies taste?  If this is a period cookbook, do the recipies
come out good the first time, or are there things that the writer assumed
you knew, and it takes some tweaking to get it right?  (And all of the
other stuff folks have suggested, too.)
