Bogdan asked:

>Cariadoc mentions a recipe for

>> the end of the winter?

>Is that in the Miscellany, or Volumes I and II, if so, where? If not,
>could you post the recipe????

I’m not sure if Cariadoc is referring to a specific recipe or not. There
have been a number of them given on this list and the Rialto before.
Some of these can be found in this file in the FOOD section of my
Florilegium:

pickled-food-msg (34K) 8/20/97 Medieval pickled food. recipes.

And Bogdan, this one should be there as it isn’t a recent file. I must
appologize to some of you as I did to Bogdan when he asked where some
of the files I mentioned were. It seems Gregory Blount, who runs the
website my files are on, has gotten a little behind in adding the recent
files to the site.

For non-ice-chest foods these other files might also be of interest:

drying-foods-msg (6K) 12/ 8/97 Drying foods in period and for the SCA.
food-storage-msg (72K) 5/ 1/97 Storing and preserving food in period. Non-
refrigerated food for camping and Pennsic.

If you cannot find a file that I’ve mentioned, please feel free to
send me a message. It may be that I have yet to ship the file to Greg.
(I only send him the files every few weeks).
It could be that Greg is just behind putting the file up on the site
or there could be a bigger problem we need to know about in order to
fix it. In any of these cases, I will gladly send you the file by
email in either Word or text format.

Sorry for any inconvenience this has caused.

Anyway, my files are at:
http://www.pbm.com/~lindahl/rialto/rialto.html
