I doubt Rowan will answer this, so I will,

Rowan has god-status in Lochac*.  She was one of the people who started
the SCA in Australia and has tried just about everything there is to try
in the Society.  She continually tries raise the base level of
authenticity, through leading by example.  She teaches many classes on
the various different areas she has researched and also gives individual
encouragement.

I know this post sounds like I am a suck, but it isn't - Rowan is one of
my role-models for what the SCA should be about.

*  At one of my first ever away events (4 years ago) I met this woman
wearing a German costume.  I asked if I could take her photo and she
chatted to me about her garb.  I found her really pleasant to talk to,
and went away feeling really good.  Another gentle of my then shire
raced up to me and shrieked "Oh my God, that was Mistress Rowan !!  I
hope you didn't disgrace your shire !!!!!!"
