Snowbirds are anyone that comes to winter in balmy Florida (or as far north as
the NC coast, or the southwestern states).  Place of origin and religous
heritage are irrelevent. 

Someone thought the name had to do with a Canadian flying squad.  I doubt it,
more likly the obvious "flying south for the winter" similarity to birds.
