That is, of course, your choice, Stefan. If you do decide to stop offering
helpful pointers based on what I said, that will be an unfortunate loss, but
there's not much I can say about that.

I don't believe that I was suggesting that you not continue to offer your
pointers, but as may be seen in your response to my message, things are
not always taken as they are intended by whom they are sent. As I said,
I am confident that you are *not* intending to shut down conversation, and
are just trying to be helpful -- but that is one way in which such messages,
phrased as they are, can be taken. And *trust me*, I've had long experience
with the differences in how things can be presented and misinterpreted, as
I'm sure you recall.

If I might be so forward as to suggest it, perhaps you might consider, rather
than suspending your helpful suggestions (based solely on the comments of
one person), you might continue to offer your notices of what you have compiled
on the various topics when you think it is appropriate (If nothing else,
I rather find your regular update notices most useful), but perhaps
you might examine other ways of expressing that you have this information
on hand. Simply as an example, something like the following might have sounded
better:

"Thank you, what you've said was very interesting. In case you've missed it,
I've compiled some of the other things said in this and similar threads and
have placed those at my Florilegium site at
"http://www.pbm.com/~lindahl/rialto" under "Food" then "Organ meat". In fact,
if you don't mind, I would be honored if you'd let me add your material to that
file as well."

Of course, this is not the only possibility, but it gets your point across,
is diplomatic, and has the added benefit of some legal ground in case she
later decides to complain about copyright infringement.

Just a thought.
