Well, the Kotzebue grocery stores (yes, there are two of them) have a
better produce selection than you might expect, so things like leeks and
pomegranates are available, if more expensive then in towns elsewhere.  I
tend to do much of my food shopping when in Anchorage (checked baggage
being _much_ cheaper than shipping when you are off the road system), so I
already had dried fruits and other things they don't carry out here.
I was lucky in that I already had most of the spices since Mistress Annora
had gifted the canton with a care package of things like galengale, cubebs,
etc. from her last trip to Seattle.  The only thing I just plain had to do
without was mint--I didn't happen to have any on hand, and I couldn't even
get it dried locally.
