Not too bad (as electric ovens go) I have to watch pots as the heat
continues a while after you turn off the burners, but I just compensate
for that by turning them on low or off when I get close to the end of
cooking something. This also means they're great for keeping something
warm without too much danger of burning; just put the pot on a just
turned off burner and then go chase the kids down for supper or
whatever....

As for cleaning, (and I'm probably doing this all wrong), but before the
heat goes completely out of the top, I take a wet cloth towel and wipe it
down. Gets most of the crud before it hardens onto the top (I learned
this when a pot of rice boiled over and I grabbed a towel and swiped
without thinking!)

As long as you think of it as a different type of range altogether, and
adjust accordingly, you should have no (or few) problems.
