Evil Carpetbagger Yankee?  Isn't that redundant?  Maybe spending the
last 25 years in South Carolina is wearing off on me.  We continue to
fly the Confederate flag over our capital and our ex-Governor lost his
far-right support when he suggested that it might be time to bring it
down.  Our Canton's normal event site is a Girl Scout Camp outside
Columbia; if you look carefully while you're driving out there, you can
sometimes catch the signs for the next KKK Rally.  The Grand Dragon
lives near the site {he owns a mobile home with a 30 ft cross in the
front yard and a bunch of lawn jockeys wearing Klan robes!}.  I may be
cynical, but someone recently wrote that "South Carolina's headlines are
the world's punchlines."

Adamantius is correct in implying that Southerners are finicky about
their biscuits; an admitted "Yankee" biscuit would go over about as well
as the New York City picante in the "Pace Thick and Chunky" commercials.
My 88 year old grandmother in Mississippi still makes hers from scratch
and has truly scathing remarks for "store-bought" biscuits.  However, in
spite of it's dubious heritage, I'm willing to give Adamantius' recipe a
try {even if I can never admit where it came from without losing face in
the community!}.

months I've been on here and look forward to future discussions in the
coming year.
