IMHO, the gist was not that nobility didn't drink water at all but, rather,
that water was not served at a feast as a beverage. If my perceptions are
accurate, then I would have to agree. We have no extant records, to my
knowledge that water was served as a beverage at feasts. Given that the
"alcohol" problem is a relitively modern phenomenon with respect to being
applied to all persons as opposed to a few, I would agree that water was not
served as a beverage of choice at noble feasts..
