Irissa dear,  my husband worked as a breakfast cook for six years, including the first two years of our relationship.  A few months after he went into another job, I ran my fingers over the back of his hand and felt something prickly... scared me until we both realized it was the hair on the backs of his hands, finally growing back after a six-year absence... 

So, you're not alone...  <g>
