Celestria asked some questions. I think I can offer a little help
on the last two.
2. I have no idea what Medieval cooks used in the field to cook on or
with. Since most of the events I have attended have been wars, I have
cooked over an open fire. My question is what is the equivalent, if any,
of a medieval barbecuer? I have one of those converted washer thingees--it
is at least peri-oid, now I would like to work on period.
- ---------
For various ideas, both period and peri-oid you might want to scan
this file in the FOOD section of my Florilegium:
utensils-msg (88K) 10/24/97 Utensils, plates, trenchers, cast iron pots.
It sounds like you may be wanting some cooking utensils as well as cooking
setups. If you choose iron, whether from plate or cast, this file might
prove useful:
iron-pot-care-msg (23K) 8/ 7/96 Seasoning and caring for iron pots and
skillets.

3. I still have not been able to get my hands on an heirloom plants
catalogue even though I have sent requests, via e-mail, to several
different companies. If someone out there has a copy of a recent catalogue
they could send me I would gladly reimburse you for postage and handling.
- ---------
There are a number of heirloom plants and catalogs mentioned in this
file in the PLANTS, HERBS AND SPICES section. I believe a number of
these have 1-800 numbers. Perhaps that will prove more responsive than
email reqeusts.
seeds-msg (59K) 7/29/97 Sources for period plants and seeds.
