"although tansy is quite safe if used in the tiny amounts needed for
seasoning, it contains an oil that can be fatal when consumed in large
quantities." Peterson, Lee Allen. A Field Guide to Edible Wild Plants of
Eastern and Central North America. Houghton Mifflin Company. New York,
1977. p. 90.

The recipe was given as an example of the practice of cooking scrambled
eggs. This particular recipe continues cooking the eggs until they are
stiff, & then slices them. Malasade presses down on the mass of scrambled
eggs with a slice of bread & then inverts the whole thing onto a serving
platter. Hanoney cooks the scrambled eggs with onions.

Harleian MS. 4016
85 Hanoney.  Take eyren, and drawe the yolkes and white thorgh a streynour;
And take oynons, And Shrede hem small; And take faire butter or grece, and
vnneth ouere-couer the pan therewith; And fry the oynons togidre; then late
hem fry to-gidre a lite while; And take hem vppe, And serue hem forthe so,
al to-broke yn a dissh.
