You might take a look at this file in the FOOD section of the
Florilegium:

pickled-food-msg  (34K)  8/20/97    Medieval pickled food. recipes.

I can’t remember if there are referances or recipes in there for
pickles (pickled cucumbers) or not.

Hey, until I got on this list, I’m not sure I was even aware that
there was anything pickled other than cucumbers, ie: pickles.
