I was thinking of your taste for good wine, and I wondered about the usual
availability of corkscrews. I also wondered what kind you favor. Myself, I
always have available my Medieval Swiss Army knife, in my pouch with my
Medieval Computer, Wallet, Cigarettes, and What-Not. I've also used with
great success the German type with the two prongs that you rock in and
twist out, and I recently picked up an item, made of plastic, which splits
in two parts, one of which doubles as the screw-cover and the handle. I
know Napoleon'speople would cut the neck of the bottle off with a sword...
what did they do in period, and did they even HAVE wine bottles at all in
period?
