There is also, of course, the cloak pin. Mine is penannular type, with a 
nice long pin. Poke it through the cork, or down the side, to let the 
thing breathe. Then it is a simple matter to push the cork INTO the 
bottle. Not the most elegant, but a practical solution. Better is to 
bring a good supply of jugs, and place one's beverages therein BEFORE the 
feast.
