In many Australian cities, local churches have what could be called 
"casserole banks".  Basically members of the congregation make up 
casseroles which are then put in recycled plastic containers.  The 
casseroles are kept in a freezer for distribution to those in need.  

If you have a feast that will be featuring soups, stews, casseroles and 
similar, and somehow end up with leftovers, these will be gratefully 
received by a local parish.  

Also, for feasts that feature fruit such as apples, pears, and leftover 
entire rolls and loaves of bread, the local soup kitchens which serve 
people in the evenings would be appreciative of donations.

I am willing to be a contact person for such items in Politarchopolis, 
Lochac.

BTW, thanks to all for providing such a useful and entertaining cooks' 
list!
