SC - Saunders powder

Saunders is red sandelwood, powdered. Aside from seeing it in mideaval
cookbooks I can't say when it was first used. I have some in my kitchen given
to me by a kind Graffin, so it must still be available. It stains everything
like tumeric does. On the same thread tho, does anybody know what turnsole
actually was?
