SC - CO2 cautions

When I was doing my EMT course we had a guy come in dealing with Haz-Mat
and O2. He said that the gases sold to welders are just as pure as those
used for Medical purposes, the only reason for the differentiation in the
markings was because O2 is considered a drug when used on a patient, but
the same guidelines didn't apply to welding gases. They're all manufactured
the same way, and yes, I did ask him about other gases as well. Compressed
air is rather a different beastie from purified gases- it's actually easier
to keep your gases clean than to let them get polluted by foreign
substances.
