SC - A sore subject.

Okay now I have to hit the honesty button a little. I used to actually be a
Jack Daniels woman. I luv the brown grain alcohols. Unfortunately my
progressive kidney disease does not allow me to drink liquor anymore (well
almost never). I also have to watch my alcohol intake from other sources as
well as my kidneys just wont process the alcohol anymore.

This doesn't mean that I don't enjoy beer and wine, I just can't really get
tipsy anymore (I never have gotten the fun aspect of "falling down drunk"
but tipsy was okay). Well, this isn't entirely true either as I did have a
"few" for Canada Day and needed to go to sleep at Murder Melee on Saturday
nite!! :) So the ocassional tipsy evening is okay. I just have to watch it.

So all the gentles who have asked me/challenged me to a drinking bout...I'm
sorry, would LOVE to do so but really can't do it unless I want me and my
kidneys to be out of commission for a few days after! Can you say Renal
Failure?!!!

This also does not preclude my interest in beer/wine/mead making and
research. I did an
article last year on the history of mead (okay only part one, but I am
working on part two...really!!) And i love testing and tasting. I am known
to be a reasonably good judge of all things alcohol and still try to keep my
hand in this on occassion.

- -who is slightly woozy from yesterday...but it was worth it. Canada Day was
a blast.-
