Definitely not. I read your description of m'ufan with some interest and
surprise. In Baghdad, we make m'fan by layering small discs of flat bread in
small round mould.Walnuts, honey and a pinch of pepper are placed between each
layer. Rose syrup   is then poured over top and the whole thing placed in an
oven to bake. The results are a domed type of confection.

Apparently the English version is a barbarian corruption of the former reciept
and not a very good one at that, IMO. :-P
