Even today, not all beers are clear. My favourite drop is Coopers Sparkling
Ale which is bottle brewed adn therefore not filtered. It has a layer of
sediment in each bottle as well as a cloudy appearance (and a great taste).
Their sales line is "Cloudy, but fine". The brewer, the technique and local
customer preference all play a part.
