SC - Spices in cooking

my favorie way to hide canned chicken stock when I make garlic soup when
camping is to dump the can of broth into a pan, drop in a pair of chicken
thighs or a chicken breast[bones in] with a largish knob of ginger chopped,
simer til the chicken is cooked and put the deboned chopped chicken back in
with as much garlic as I have or I feel people will eat, and last minute
dropping in chopped fresh chives and parsley. If the ginger is removed,
people sometimes just can't figure out what it is...

You don't use lots, just a pinch (and some larger pieces of dried ginger).
Most people like the flavor
