Henri and Antea asked:

>Anyone have a really 'knock down dead' recipe for rabbit? as long as I don't
have to put
>it on a spit and roast outside its ok. We had fresh bunny in Firenza and I
was thinking
>about it today, but have no idea what to do with the furry beasts? My
supermarket usually
>has bunnies in the meat section so... Also is osso bucco especially period?

I have recently added this file to the FOOD section of my Florilegium:

rabbit-dishes-msg (17K) 7/15/98 Period rabbit and hare recipes.

I believe I spotted one rabbit recipe in this file the other day:
exotic-meats-msg (40K) 4/27/98 Period and SCA exotic meats. Swans,
ostrich,
                                       eels, peacocks, crawfish, dormice, snails

While I just sent this file to the website today, I'm not sure when it will
appear. Feel
free to request it from me by email in text or Word 6.0 format.

This file in the ANIMALS section has some info but no recipes:
rabbits-msg (18K) 10/ 6/97 Medieval rabbits. As pets and food.

My files are at: http://www.pbm.com/~lindahl/rialto/rialto.html

I've been tempted to try rabbit also.
