So, essentially, you are saying you do not conform to the average height
for people wearing size 10 1/2 shoes...doesn't really affect the average
too much, I suspect, since averages are calculated using both means and
extremes.

Sure, there are going to be people with unusually large or small hands
or feet for their sizes, overall, but I don't think the fact that you're
an exception is much different from the fact that there are actually no
families with 2.5 children. If a forensic specialist has to examine a
footprint and estimate the height of the individual that left it, he or
she is still going to figure that size 13 footprint to come from someone
around six feet tall, until evidence is found suggesting the contrary,
no?
