Am repeating a bit of my last post on this, please bear with me.

Precautions: Tell your doctor if you have other illnesses or any allergies,
especially allergies to drugs.

If you have had liver disease or jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes),
tell your doctor before you take this drug.

This drug should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Small
amounts of drug appear in breast milk. Consult your doctor before
breastfeeding.<Told you this stuff shows up in milk. It may well depend on
your age as to whether you were exposed to the drug unknowingly- it's only
fairly recently that this problem with this drug has been PROVEN, and even if
you're fairly young, the farmers who produce milk under a B license, ie for
CHEESE, do not, and ARE not required to follow the same rules as milk
producers.>

Drug Interactions: Tell your doctor of all the drugs you may use,
(prescription and nonprescription) especially of the following :
carbamazepine, cyclosporine, theophylline, certain benzodiazepines (e.g.
midazolam, triazolam ), warfarin, terfenadine, astemizole, felodipine (a
calcium channel blocker), cisapride, birth control pills <the reason they work
is that they convince your body that you're pregnant so you don't ovulate- as
I had mentioned, other life changes change your body's metabolism so that you
have different reactions to drugs- re your comments on popcorn and pregnancy>
corticosteroids (e.g. prednisone)< as an asthmatic, I've no doubt you've been
fed plenty of THEM!!!> , digoxin, pimozide, certain live vaccines,
disopyramide, phenytoin, sparfloxacin (a quinolone antibiotic), any other
antibiotics, and lovastatin.

As you can see, there are enough things which you may have had exposure to
which may have prejudiced your physiology against E-mycin, that your previous
exposures may have been unnoticed by anything other than your immune system. I
was trying to keep my original posting fairly simple, but since you asked...
;-)

Later,

Phlip
