The best lamb I've ever had in my life has consistently been at the annual 4-H lamb barbecue. Those lambs are raised individually by the little 4-Hers and FFAers for six months and then dressed up in ribbons to show at the county fair, and they taste so much better than those outrageously expensive dinky little cuts of meat they sell in the stores.

(Now, there's a good question: Why on Earth **are** those horrendously expensive lamb chops in the stores so tiny? )

A hint for you: If you really want to try some GOOD meat, go to your local county fair, attend the Junior Livestock Auction, and find out which local supermarkets are bidding. Wait a few days, and go shopping. (But don't watch the really young first-time sellers after the auction. They have a tendency to cry, and it makes you want to become a vegetarian.)
