Actually,

There has been a medical study compareing women's weight and their shoe
size. This was done across time and it was found that, generally, for every
20 lbs of weight a woman gained, her feet got one size bigger. (Sorry, I
don't remember any more specifics, it was on a Public Radio Health Show)

Most women who have had children can also testify to this.

 So, it does make some sense that shoe size would have something to do with
a person's body size.
