The other problem being that lodgepole are quite tall and the branches start
relatively high on a mature tree.  Getting to the pincones before they open
naturally and drop the seeds would be quite a chore, which is why I think that
lodgepole pine nuts only come up as a wilderness survival food.  (In addition
to the climp you would also have to deal with the various animals that feed on
the pine nuts like squirels and some of the larger birds.)
