Eat them, you lucky thing! Fresh figs are a delicacy where I live, 'cause my
Mom's itty bitty tree only puts out 3-4 figs a year. Now that she's planted it
in the ground (it lived in a pot for the last 15 years or so) we had
expectations of a bigger harvest and so it was -- for the squirrels! We didn't
get a single one. :( Same with plums. :(
If (tho I can't imagine it) you get tired of fresh figs, they make a lovely
jam and even the fig equivalent of a sugar plum. And before anyone calls me a
spoon tease, the recipe for sugar plums/fig/apricots/peaches will be appearing
in Stefan's files someday soon.
