When I was a kid, we lived next door to a large, intimidating
Scotswoman. She was wont to say, about her son, "My Johnny, he's a guid
boy. Ye caedna ask fuir a betterrr boy than mah Johnny. It's joost that
everry so often he needs a guid smack tae brrring oot the guidness in
him."

Well, we all know what happens to those big spoons when you whack with
them often enough. The bowl breaks off. But 'twuid be a sin an' a shame
tae waest sich a guid stick.

Adamantius (phony dialect switch definitely turned off as of now)
