In response to Murkial's pangs of completely unwarranted guilt, Master Huen

Don't know if I can even beat Kat's really... but I came up with a (reasonable
at the time) period meal for an event we were hosting. Would cost about a
dollar and a quarter per person... the autocrat allowed for .75 cents per
person for food. This was including his request of "I want BEEF... too much
chicken is served at these things!" (He was the Baron at the time too). Then
of course, his wife told me that he considered turnips the most vile thing on
earth.. and couldn't I use potatoes??? She maintained there was a european
potato like veggie... I said there was... turnips. I substituted parsnips.THEN
at the last minuite, (as in the afternoon of the event) they came across with
more money... because they put 25 more people on the meal list then they told
me to plan for. It was a rustic, rural site with the nearest store 30 minutes
away. I was young and dumb and numb. I said I'd fix it. Did I mention we had
to portage ALL the water used because earlier in the week a guy running a snow
plow accidently ripped up the water pipe and hid it in the woods? And we
didn't discover it until we'd thawed the pipe in the erronious belief it was
just frozen?

After sending down people for more stuff... we fixed it. Barely.

Ahhh, the good ole days.. I wish Graffin Judith was on here so she could tell
you about the King wanting a feast she did served in one course... he didn't
LIKE multiple courses. It was planned for three. We did it in one. I washed a
LOT of dishes very very fast (did I mention one of my nicknames is
aspestos(sp?) fingers?
