SC - Horror stories/bad manner - A question

The horror stories are not necessarily about "bad manners" or courtesy or
chivalry.  They are cautionary tales about common problems which plague
events and feasts, often with resolutions.  They cause us to think "how
would I handle that?" or "how did the person telling the tale handle it?"
Knowing about potential problems and potential solutions can save any of us
a lot of grief when we encounter them.
