Thanks, but there's not a grain of pepper in my house, and I
couldn't/wouldn't touch it if there were!  And what if some of that
pepper didn't wash off the plant when picked?  

The soap suggestions will be my best bet, probably.  Although, the garlic
idea might work...already half flavored before it gets to the pot!
