Dangers of selection pressures (was Re: SC - Greetings!)

I hate to rain on parades, but overuse of antibacterials selects for
strains of bacteria that won't be killed by it.  This is much the same as
when we "breed" pesticide resistant pests.  The only thing is that it
happens faster here with a much higher level of killing power and a much
faster generation time in bacteria.  While it is wonderful to be able to
have cleaner hands, do be careful what seed you soe.
