SC - A gentle's good deed

Well, much as I must admit that I don't always get a warm fuzzy from
the knights I've seen, I've recently had reason to rethink my
opinions of them (at least as a group).

In May I co-feastocratted an event. Everyone was well fed, and the
cheers were numerous. I and my fellow cook had been in the Kitchen
for almost 12 hours straight, and we were quite tired (and in pain --
I couldn't find a stool, and my hips don't like to let me stand for
anywhere near that long). No one had organized a clean up crew, so
we were it. I decided that that just was not acceptable, so I went
and found the nearest herald (that wasn't a cook) and asked her to
tell the assembled people that if they had enjoyed their dinner, the
cooks would enjoy their help with the clean up.

The meek, mousy little herald (gotta work on her) made her
announcement, and then, the oldest Knight (a Duke, no less) in the
room announced loudly "Well, that's something I can do!", peeled off
his nice tabard and white belt and trotted into the kitchen in his short
tunic <ahem> to do dishes. Another couple of peers hung their heads
and meekly trotted in after him to begin garbage duty.

The cooks had to stay to supervise (what to do with pots and
leftovers), but what would have taken us 3 hours was done in less
than an hour.

I was very proud of the feast we put on, but this gentle Duke warmed
my heart and made my day.
