God forbid, it ever happens again, Margarite, but don't pull off the
garment that someone is wearing.  Flesh can come with it, increasing the
severity of the injury and allowing even greater exposure to infection. 
Flood the area with cold water--not ice, just cold water--and keep it
wet.  Let the professionals remove any cloth at the hospital.
