All this mention of trade routes reminded me that there is a wealth of
information that I might yet tap into...  In my work translating some
German stuff (alas, not from a cookbook) I keep running into mention of
the Kumans and the Seklers.  Does anyone have a clue as to who these
people are?  I would hazard that the kumans are Turks, but I am probably
wrong.  My only knowledge about these people are that the Kumans are from
south of Transylvania, and the Seklers lived in Southern Transylvania, and
weren't christian by 1235.
