Here is the Chili I grew up with.  Enjoy..

"Dan's Deadly Chilly (From Dan Wilkening)

A more than normally spicy chili with serious lip and throat burning
potential.  You have been warned.

This makes a gallon- if you make less, cut the ratio of peppers
accordingly.

Combine in crock pot the following
4 chopped habenero chilis-(chopped finely)
5 chopped pickled habenero
10 chopped serano chilis
2 lbs browned hamburger
around 2 tablespoons oregano
Around 2 tablespoons basil
1 large purple onion
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 tablespoon cracked black pepper
1 can tomato paste
2 tablespoons crushed red peppers
1 can refried bean paste (thickener)

{on low} crock it for about 20 hours {stirring occasionally}
Chop up 2 medium-large tomatoes {large chunck} and 1 medium white or
yellow onion {medium chunks} and stir them in.  Add 1 Tablespoon oregano
and 1/2 a bulb of garlic, and crock for about another 2-4 hours on low.

serve with cheese, crackers, sour cream, ice water, and a fire
extinguisher."
